Marjorie L. Makeever, 86, formerly of Galion and Crestline died Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield where she has resided the last six years.

Born March 19, 1927 in Cardington, she was the daughter of the late Grover Raymond Fissell and Mary Abrilla Scribner Fissell. She was preceded in death on October 17, 1995 by her husband, George W. Makeever. whom she married on September 3, 1948.

She was a graduate Cardington High School in 1948 and a former member of the TOPS Club in Galion. Marjorie liked to read, cook, bake, work in her garden and sing. A friend to everyone, she knew not a stranger.

She worked at Overlook Nursing Home in Bellville, where she was a cook.

Surviving are three daughters and two sons-in-law, Becky Sue and Ralph Thacker, of Marion, Anita Louise Makeever, of Ashland, Ky., and Catherine and Timothy Smith, of Galion; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Gale and Brenda Makeever, of Mansfield, Timothy K. and Barbara Makeever, of Bucyrus, Larry and Kathleen Makeever, of Bucyrus and Grover Seth Makeever, of Lexington; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Belva Fissell, of Fulton and one sister, Donna Baer, of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Makeever; one grandson, Matthew Murray; one sister, Catherine Ault and two brothers, Grover and Richard Fissell.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home in Galion where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 27, 2013 with Rev. Joe Stafford officiating. Burial will be in Crawford County Memory Gardens.
