Marjorie E. Palmer, 84, of Richwood, died peacefully Wednesday, Sept. 2, 2009 at the home of her daughter, after a long illness.
Born Sept. 6, 1924 in Crestline, she was the daughter of the late Andrew Blum and Ina Sonner Blum. She was preceded in death on June 10, 1991 by her husband, Robert Max Palmer whom she married on Nov. 4, 1943.
Marjorie’s ancestors were charter members of Calvary United Church of Christ in Crestline. She was currently a member of First United Methodist Church in Richwood. She was a 1942 graduate of Crestline High School and was formerly employed at the former North Electric Company in Galion. Marjorie was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed sharing time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She loved to cook and each of her family recalls their own favorite dish of hers.
She is survived by one son, Robert Dale “Arnie” Palmer of Crestline; one daughter and son-in-law, Sandra L. and Michael Williams of Richwood; two granddaughters, Jacqueline E. Palmer of Richwood and Michele Thad Cushman of Urbana; two great-grandsons, Denver and Cody Cushman of Urbana; one sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Ken Kondo of Cleveland; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Blum of Galion and Shirley Blum of Crestline.
She was preceded in death by one sister and brother-in-law, Miriam and Chester Bush and two brothers, Charles Blum and Harold Blum.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8, with Pastor Joseph Rhea officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenwich, Ohio.
