Marion G. Farmer

Marion G. Farmer, age 81 of Fredericktown, has taken his heavenly flight to join our Lord Jesus Christ on Tuesday March 27, 2012 at St Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.

He was born on May 19, 1930 in Dehue, WV to the late George and Lula (Runyon) Farmer. He had worked as a coal miner in West Virginia, and assembler for Westinghouse and Liebert in Columbus. He was a member of the Centerburg Enterprise Baptist Church.

Marion enjoyed reading, gardening and working with his hands. Marion loved to hunt deer and usually spent a week in West Virginia with his brothers hunting. He also liked to hunt for turkey, rabbit and squirrel. Camping, fishing and trips to West Virginia, stopping at a special restaurant along with the special treat of hamburgers, hot dogs and chips on Fridays were things remembered by his family.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Mary Etta (Paris) Farmer and they were married March 8, 1949; sons: Ronald (Lana) Of Ulysses, Ky., Marion Jr. (Margaret) of Canon City, Co.; daughters: Joan (Charles) DeBoard of Centerburg, Sandra (Dana) McDowell of Frazeysburg; grandchildren: Ronald (Brenda), Alan (Anita), Brian (Erica) Farmer, Kathy (Gregory) Colangelo, Mary Kathryn Farmer, Nicole Marie (Kevin) Carpenter, Heather West Parrish; 15 great grandchildren; brothers: Clifford (Betty), Enoch, Charles (Helen), Jerry (Faye), Dale (Karen), Bobby all of WV. Tony of NC; sister: Gail (Blake) Clevenger of WV.

Preceded in death by grandson: John DeBoard; great grandson: Blake Farmer; brothers: Willis, Raymond, Earnest.

Friends may call Friday at the Centerburg Enterprise Baptist Church, 377 N. Clayton Street, Centerburg, Ohio 43011 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the service to follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Mark Tuggle officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastview Cemetery.
