Marilyn “Marty” Damron

Marilyn “Marty” Damron, age 80, of Edison, passed away Friday evening, December 21, 2018, at Vancrest of Urbana.
On February 4, 1938, Marty was born in Dayton, Ohio, a daughter of the late Richard Rowe and Pauline (Fry) Lane.
Marty married the love of her life, Clayton “Sam” Damron, on July 30, 1953. They shared nearly 64 years as husband and wife before he preceded her in death on July 25, 2017.
A woman of faith, Marty was a long time member of the Canaan United Methodist Church.
Marty enjoyed working with her hands quilting, crocheting and doing needlepoint. She loved playing slots on the boat on the Ohio River or up in Canada. Marty liked to travel and her favorite vacation spot was Graceland. She also enjoyed watching QVC and old western movies.
Most important to Marty was her family. She especially cherished spending time with her grandchildren.
Marty will be missed dearly by her four children: Randy (Lori) Damron Sr. of Cable, OH, Steve (Trudy) Damron of Cardington, Tim Damron of Urbana, OH, and Bryan (Rhonda) Damron of Marengo; eight grandchildren: Shane and Randy Damron Jr., Tricia (Donald) Carlyle, Steven (Heidi) Damron Jr., Amanda (Damron) Conley, and Bryston, Bailey, and Brooklyn Damron; two step-grandchildren: Tina (Carl) Unger and Mike (Kassie) Gall Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren: Kaimin, Mary, Owen, McKenzie and Declan Damron, Kayla and Lana Carlyle, Maddy, Steven III, and Eli Damron, and Alyssa Conley; four step-great-grandchildren: Tyler and Gabrielle Unger, Kayden and Quentin Gall; a brother, Rick (Jennifer) Lane of Hillsboro, OH; a sister, Denise Lane of Dayton, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cooper Damron and a sister, Doris Damron.
Her family will greet friends from 1 – 3 p.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Craven Chapel, 67 N. Main St., Mount Gilead. Services to honor and celebrate her life will take place there at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Stephan Bloomfield officiating. Burial will follow in Worden Cemetery in Edison.
