Marilyn L. Testa
February 18, 1935 ‒ October 19, 2011
Marilyn Louise (Bauer) Testa, 76, of Fredericktown, OH, died October 19, 2011 at Morrow Manor Nursing Center in Chesterville, OH of complications from a stroke she suffered in 2001. Marilyn was born an only child to Emma (Harrington) and Herman Bauer on February 18, 1935 in Ravenna, OH. She married her high school sweetheart, Donald Testa, on October 27, 1956. This year would have been their 55th wedding anniversary.
Marilyn’s number one priority in her life was raising her children. After graduating from Kent State High School, she left nursing school in 1957 to devote all of her time to her family. After her children were grown, Marilyn spent several years as a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant. She thrived on helping people feel good about themselves. A volunteer all her life, Marilyn most recently was a member of Knox Community Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary working in the gift shop and helping to organize the Twilight Benefit for many years. Her hobbies included – shopping (especially for shoes), entertaining (nobody declined Marilyn’s invitations), practical jokes (she loved April Fool’s day), Halloween (she panicked if she ran out of candy and instead of turning out the lights would either make her kids run to the store or start giving away money) and traveling (as long as it didn’t involve camping).
In addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by five children, Terry (Tina) of Florence, CO, Vince (Deedra) of Grand Junction, CO, Michelle (Roger) Krummen of Cincinnati, OH, Michael (Michelle) and Melanne (Shad) Acker, both of Fredericktown, OH, seven grandchildren David Testa, Cassi, Courtney and Nicholas Testa, Kaylene Testa, Christina and Sharon Krummen.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 23rd 4-6pm at Snyder’s Funeral Home, Fredericktown, OH. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Mt Vernon, OH on Monday, October 24th at 10:00 am. A graveside service will take place on Monday at 3 p.m. at Restland Cemetery in Brimfield.
Memorials may be directed to Acclaim Hospice and Palliative Care of Columbus, 2800 Corporate Exchange Drive, Suite 140, Columbus, OH 43231.
