Marilyn R. (Coon) Hagner, age 58, of Utica, died Sunday October 21, 2001 at her residence following an extended illness. Marilyn was born November 4, 1942 in Mount Vernon and had spent her lifetime in Knox and Licking counties. Marilyn graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1961 and had been employed at the Meijer store in Newark.
She was a member of the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon. For many years Marilyn had been a member of the Pine Street Church of God in Mount Vernon where she had been active with the Women of the Church of God and served as a day care worker at the church.
Surviving are her husband of 34 years Howard Hagner, her son Chris (Lorna) Hagner of Mount Vernon; her daughter Christine (Danney) Hamilton of Aberdeen, Mississippi; 3 grandchildren; her mother Lois (Pealer) Coon of Archdale, North Carolina and her brother Myron (Darlene) Coon of Archdale, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her father Herbert Coon.
Friends may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon. Funeral services will be Thursday at 10:30 AM at the Lakeholm Church of the Nazarene in Mount Vernon with Rev. Robert Morrison and Rev. Leon Hartwig officiating. Burial will follow at Ankenytown Cemetery.
