Marian’s Obituary

MANSFIELD: Marian Wanita Rothacher, age 88, passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2018 in OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital while surrounded by her family.

She was born April 27, 1930 to parents Herbert Enoch & Estella Mae (Brown) Likens in McCoole, Maryland. Marian graduated from Timken Vocational School in Canton with the class of 1948. On April 27, 1949, she married George “Buddy” Rothacher and they shared 60 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 2009. They are now together again.

Marian worked at Therm-O-Disc as an assembler for 10 years and later worked as a teacher’s aide for Mansfield Christian Schools. She was a member of First Alliance Church in Mansfield and she was active with the Women’s Missionary Fellowship.

Marian enjoyed travelling all over the US with her husband George and taking photographs. She was creative and used her photos to make cards for friends and family and always included a Bible verse. Marian was a lifelong avid reader and also enjoyed listening to music. In spare time, she especially liked to watch Fox News and, most of all, she cherished spending time with her family.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law Brenda & Chris Boyd of Mansfield, Sherry Jackson of Marion, Iowa, Gayle & Rick Root of Vancouver, Washington, Terri Brauchler of Mansfield, and Anita Joyce & David Bower of Vancouver, Washington. Son and daughter-in-law the Rev. Bruce & Sue Rothacher of Puyallup, Washington. 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren. A sister Linda Meola of Atwater and sister-in-law Laura Laser of Ashland.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Estella Jean Adcock and Gloria Calvo; and grandsons Stephen Root and Michael Bower.

Service Details

The Rothacher Family will receive friends 1-3 pm Monday, May 14, 2018 in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin immediately afterwards at 3 pm Monday, led by her son the Rev. Bruce Rothacher and entombment will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington.
