Margaret A. Pecko Pfeifer, 82, of Cardington, Ohio died Friday, December 20, 2002 in Morrow County Hospital.

She was born in Houston, Texas on May 4, 1920, the daughter of the late Elmer and Louella Shaffer Crawford. She worked at Morrow County Hospital, North Electric, and owned and operated the former Cozy Corner Restaurant in Marengo. Margaret was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Mansfield, the Mildred Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Gideon’s International, the Loyal Neighbors Club, and the former First Call Program at Morrow County Hospital. She was famous for her cooking and baking, especially pies.

She is survived by her husband Harold E. Pfeifer, whom she married Sept. 3, 1973; a son and daughter-in-law Carl A. & Julie Pecko, Jr. of Union, KY; two daughters and a son-in-law Max & Barbara A. Pecko Weise of Cardington, OH, and Linda Pecko Jackson Cain of Cardington, OH; grandchildren and grandchildren –in-law Bill & Peggy Weise Griffin, Tim & Sharon Weise, and Ian & Amanda Pecko Cross; great grandchildren and a great grandson-in-law Victoria and Tabitha Griffin and Jeff & Tracie Griffin Radel; two brothers William Crawford of Frederick, MD and Donald Crawford of Paducah, KY; four sisters Martha Cooley of Athens, OH, Lilly McGill and Annora Brother both of Houston, TX, and JoAnn Grover of Hilton Head, SC.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Carl A. Pecko, brothers Fred and Raymond Crawford, and sister Eva Miller.

Pastor Denis Wittenberger will officiate funeral services Monday at noon in the Craven Funeral Home, 67 North Main St., Mt. Gilead. Friends may call Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
