Margaret Jane Flick

Bellville: Margaret Jane Flick, of Bellville and formerly of Lexington passed away Monday, September 13, 2010 in MedCentral Mansfield following a short illness. She was 90.
She was born November 15, 1919 in Mansfield to Alexander and Grace Sams, and remained a lifelong area resident before moving to Florida to be near her sons. She returned to Ohio last year.
Margaret was employed as a bookkeeper most of her working years. She worked for The Giant Store, Woolworths, Coldwell and Bloor and Empire Affiliates Credit Union and didn’t retire until she was 84.
She attended St. John’s United Church of Christ. Margaret was a member of and Past Matron of Ruth Chapter # 17 Order of Eastern Star, and also served as Grand Officer in 1971. She was also a member and Past Worthy High Priestess of Naomi Shrine # 10. She enjoyed flower gardening, paying cards and Yahtzee. For her 90th birthday, she celebrated with a trip to Wheeling to play the slot machines.
A devoted mother and grandmother, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law William G. and Sally Bethea of Ft. Myers, FL, and Glynn D. (Dick) Bethea of Boca Raton, FL; four grandchildren and their spouses Michelle Bethea of Lexington, Nicolle and Bruce Loris of Lewis Center, Benji and Denise Bethea of Bellville and Gwen Bethea Turnett and Colt Turnett of El Paso, TX; eight great grandchildren Lacee, Ryan, Maddy, Noah, Dante, Warren, Payton and Colt, Jr.; and a nephew Jerry Holden of Shelby.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Flick on Feb. 26, 1999; her sister Mary Holden, her brother Harvey Sams, and her former husband Glynn Bethea.
Friends may call Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 10 am to 11 am in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Ruth Chapter #17 will hold Eastern Star Memorial Services at 11 am and the funeral service will follow. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
