Margaret J. “Peggy” Gantzler, 82, of Galion passed away, Wednesday afternoon, May 7, 2014 at the Galion Community Hospital.

She was born February 4, 1932 in Providence, R.I. and was the daughter of Nicholas and Sarah (Ravo) Gugliemello.

Peggy is survived by her husband of nearly 47 years Paul A. “Skip” Gantzler who she married on July 15, 1967. She is also survived by sisters, Madeline Hough of East Providence, R.I., Carmella Palombo of North Providence, R.I. and a half-sister, Concetta Copetto of East Providence, R.I.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Phyllis Heron, a half-sister Esther Praffeifty and a half-brother.

Peggy was a 1950 graduate of East Providence High School in Providence, R.I. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Galion and volunteered for Friends of Crawford County, Gorman Nature Center and the Wild Life Haven. Peggy was an avid reader and liked arts, crafts, traveling and cultural events.

Following her wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
