Margaret Ida Crews, 94, of Delaware, died Monday evening, November 20, 2017 at Conneaut Medical Center.

She was born on March 9, 1923 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania to the late Freeman Noah Hetzer and Evelyn Faye (Coleman) Hetzer and later graduated from Hooversville High School in Pennsylvania. On May 9, 1948, she married Charles Crews in Akron, Ohio. Sadly, Charles passed away in 2010.

Margaret worked for many years as a secretary with the Methodist Theological School and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Along with her husband, she enjoyed spending the winter in Apache Junction, Arizona and hiking the mountains there.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Kenneth (Joyce) Crews of Oakland, MD and Carol (John) Rettger of Kingsville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years Charles, sons Charles Jr. and John, her brothers David, Freeman and Brinton Hetzer and her sister Florence Robins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm at the Calvary Baptist Church, 1450 Troy Road, Delaware, OH. Funeral services celebrating the life of Margaret will follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Fred Hand officiating. Entombment will be held at a later date at Kingwood Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.
