Margaret Ann “Peggy” Young

February 10, 1935 ‒ April 13, 2013

Bellville, Ohio

BELLVILLE: Margaret Ann “Peggy” Young passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 from her Bellville home after a courageous year-long battle with cancer. She was 78.

Peggy was born in New Lexington on February 10, 1935 to parents John & Dora (Hynus) Sines and was graduated from St. Aloysius High School in New Lexington. She married Donald “Gene” Young and together they raised a son and a daughter. Peggy was a homemaker for most of her life and made sure her home was a warm and inviting place for her family.

She moved to the area in 1996 and soon after she took a job as a housekeeper at Quality Inn in Bellville. Peggy loved her job and it was what kept her going.

Everyone knew that she was ‘the boss,’ but Peggy had a soft side for her grandchildren whom she doted on incessantly. Free time was spent tending to her flower garden, reading a good book, or solving crossword puzzles. Her favorite shows to watch were Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.

She will be sadly missed by her daughter and son-in-law Susan & Randy Crider of Bellville; grandchildren Abbie Miller, Nicole Shoenfelt, and Michael Young; great-grandchildren Haylie Miller, Logan Miller, and Ayden Bays; her sister and brother-in-law Joyce (Sines) & Cliff Valentine of New Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her loving husband Gene on December 21, 1995; her son and daughter-in-law Greg & Sally Young; and siblings Roberta Wolfe, Robert E. Sines, Leona Fosco, LeRoy Sines, John Sines, and Virginia Ansel.

Peggy will be buried next to Gene in Maplewood Cemetery, 440 Swigart Street, New Lexington, where a graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013. Pastor Richard Newlon, a friend of the family, will officiate the service.

Contributions in Peggy’s memory to the American Cancer Society may be made at the funeral home.
