Margaret (Peggy) A. Appleton, age 78, Baton Rouge, LA formerly of Mount Vernon passed away on Monday afternoon, November 26, 2012 at the Southeast Louisiana War Veterans Home, Reserve, LA. She was born on June 5, 1934 in Mount Vernon, daughter of the late James and Marguerite (McHale) Blubaugh.

Margaret retired from First Knox National Bank with many years of faithful service. She was a member of Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Mount Vernon.

Margaret is survived by her sons, Jim Appleton of Grundy, VA, John Appleton of Baton Rouge, LA, and Bob Appleton of Lee’s Summit, MO, daughter, Mary Margaret Appleton of Baton Rouge, LA; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara Blankfort of Fairfield, CT, brother-in-law, Bill Appleton of St. Charles, MO, special cousin, Shirley Hillier of Mt. Vernon, OH and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, Charles David Appleton.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, November 30 at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home, 619 East High St., Mount Vernon, with a Prayer service to follow the visitation.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 1 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Rev. Father Mark J. Hammond as the Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Mount Vernon.

Memorial contributions may be made St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Mt. Vernon, OH in memory of Margaret Appleton.
