BELLVILLE: Margaret Alice Isley, 88, of Bellville passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in Winchester Terrace, following an extended illness.

The daughter of Joseph and Cora (Hatfield) Larimore, Margaret was born June 27, 1930 in Mansfield and graduated from Lexington High School.  The following year she married Howard Isley on November 18, 1949.  A dedicated wife and mother, much of Margaret’s time was in raising her 5 children and working alongside Howard on the family farm.  Margaret had also worked for Woolworth’s Department Store.

For over 25 years, Margaret served as 4-H Advisor.  She attended Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir.  Margaret enjoyed sewing, reading and working in her vegetable garden.

She is survived by her children Carl (Rosemary) Isley of Mansfield, David (Jeannie ) Isley of Galion, Beverly (Michael) Ryder of Mansfield, Alan Isley of Mansfield, and Emily Isley (Gary Sias) of Mansfield; grandchildren Brad Isley, Shaun (Belinda) Isley, Brandi (Cody) Teeter, Alan Isley, and Ryan Ryder; great grandchildren Tyler and Eliah Isley; great-great grandson Greyson Isley; siblings Dorothy Bonin, Charles (Mary) Larimore, Jim (Judy) Larimore, Arlene (Bob) Staats, Joyce Wendland, and Sharon (Tom) Bellino; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Kenneth (Georgia) Isley, Doris McFerren, Miriam (Jack) Brokaw; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howard Isley; siblings Opal Dall, Anna Snyder, Wanda Adams, infant sister Evelyn and an infant brother.

Funeral services for Margaret will be Friday, December 21, 2018 at 11am in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home.  Pastor Donna Mills will officiate and burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church may be made through the funeral home.

  • I have so many memories of Margaret through the years. My Mom and Margaret were friends for years even celebrating their Anniversary on the same day together. Margaret was my 4H leader and taught me about sewing and making cookies. My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. She will be missed.
