Mardelle “Marty” Yuhas, 83, of Delaware passed away late Sunday afternoon April 15, 2012 at Wesley Glen in Columbus. She was born September 10, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio to Glenn and Mildred (Teeter) O’Brien. She was a graduate of the Columbus College of Art and Design and retired from HER Realtors in Delaware. She was a former Liberty Township zoning commissioner and was an award winning oil painting artist. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Delaware, the American Legion Post #293 of Worthington, the Air Force Sergeants Association Auxillary of Randolph AFB, Texas, and the Delaware and Westerville Art League. She taught oil arts at the YWCA and was a former 4H advisor. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the American Cancer Society. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, John James Yuhas; daughter, Karen Yuhas of Worthington; son, Raymond Yuhas of Coco, Florida; granddaughter, Alli; brothers-in-law, Bob Yuhas of Cleveland and Ron Yuhas of Westerville; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Dan Martin and a sister June Yuhas. The family will receive friends on Thursday April 19th from 5 – 8 pm at the Rodman Neeper Funeral Home, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive where a vigil of prayer service will be held at 5:00 pm. Burial will be at a later date at St. Mary Cemetery.
