Marciel LaDonna (Clever) Ruhl

August 02, 1918 ‒ December 30, 2017

Mansfield, Ohio

MANSFIELD: Marciel Ruhl was blessed with a delightful and jovial spirit. The warm smile on her face indicated the bright and upbeat personality with which she cheerfully approached each day. Her pleasant and positive approach to life was her secret to longevity.

Saturday morning December 30, 2017, Marciel passed into the Lord’s care. She was 99.

Born Marciel LaDonna Clever on August 2, 1918 to Fred and Carrie (Minard) Clever on the family farm on Kochheiser Road in Richland County, she was graduated from Johnsville High School in 1937, and never wandered too far. In 1942 she married Owen L. Ruhl, they were blessed with two sons, and Marciel set to raising their family. After Owen’s death in 1966, she worked as an assembler with Therm-O-Disc, retiring in 1984. Following retirement, she traveled to visit Israel and even took part in a mission trip to Honduras.

Marciel was an avid Ohio State Buckeye Football and Cleveland Indians Baseball fan.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Community Church, Sunshiner’s Women’s Missionary Society, and advisor of Kids Kadets, and a member of Elizabeth Bible Club in Johnsville.

She is survived by her sons David (Vanessa) Ruhl of Bellville and Philip (Rayma) Ruhl of Fredericktown; grandchildren Brandon (Stephanie) Ruhl, Britany (Dustin) Gatton and Zachary Ruhl; great-grandchildren Madison, Maci, Broghan and Emerie; foster sister Jackie Carpenter of Lakeland, FL.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Owen L. Ruhl.
