Maggie M. Murphy, age 67 of Delaware died late Friday evening, April 25, 2003 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.

She was born on Sept. 20, 1935 in Fayetteville, TN to Albert and Katherine Simpson Eddins. Maggie moved to Delaware in 1963 from Tennessee. She had worked at The Delaware Gazette and as a beautician operating the Modern Beauty Shop in Delaware. She was an active member of Second Baptist Church in Delaware, enjoyed bowling, vacationing out West and spending time with her grandson; Jordan.

Survived by her loving husband of 47 years: Robert H. Murphy, Mother: Katherine Eddins of Fayetteville, TN, Sons: Robert “Shawn” (Adrienne) Murphy of Delaware, Grandson: Robert Jordan Murphy, Step-Grandson: Nicholas Miller of Delaware, Brothers: A.C. Eddins of Fayetteville, TN, William Curtis Eddins of Columbus, Brother-in-law: Joe Murphy of Nashville, TN, Sister-in-law: Maxie Dangerfield of Dayton, numerous nephews and friends, including special friends: Yvonne Shelton, Snobia Mitchell, Annette & Lillis Fisher, Norma Harris and Helena Carter.

Friends may call Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St. (SR 36), Delaware. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 1:00 p.m. at Second Baptist Church, 55 Ross St., Delaware with Rev. Lamont Coates officiating. Burial will follow in Kingwood Memorial Park.
