Johnsville: Madeline L. Beam, age 87, formerly of U.S. Route 42, Johnsville, died Monday May 21, 2001 in Lexington Court Care Center following a long illness.

She was born March 14, 1914, in Payson IL to Edna K. McMullen, and had lived most of her life in the Johnsville area.

For 16 years Madeline had been a coil winder and wiring worker with Power Equipment Company retiring in 1979.

She was a member of Johnsville Grace United Methodist Church, a member and former vice-president of the Lexington Senior Citizens, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary at VFW Post # 9943 Lexington.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Gary & Ann Beam of Mt. Gilead; and a daughter and son-in-law Dianne & Richard Harvey of Johnsville; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by her stepfather George Taylor, and her husband Charles Beam on March 18, 1963.

Friends may call Wednesday May 23, 2001 from 5-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Thursday at 10:30 am. The Rev. Jim Jenson will officiate. Burial will follow in Shauck Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to the Johnsville Rescue Squad or Johnsville Grace United Methodist Church may be made at the funeral home.
