She also attended Camp Sychar in Mount Vernon for ten days each August for nearly 80 years where all of her family knew they were welcome to come, stay and bring friends.

For years, Mabel attended the Selover Public Library Luncheon and the Mount Vernon Concert series. She enjoyed traveling, family cookouts at the farm, and drives to see the fall leaves. She went on a Missions trip to Mexico to help build a church. Aunt Mabel was like a second parent to her many nieces and nephews and will be missed very much by them all – as well as by their children, grandchildren and by many friends and former students.
