Mabel A. Lamb, age 94, of Upland Terrace, Mount Vernon, died on Monday, November 2, 2009 at the Ohio Eastern Star Home in Mount Vernon. She was born on February 5, 1915 in Mount Vernon, Ohio to the late Clarence and Eleanor (Kells) Reams. Mabel was a 58-year member and past Matron of Ann Hill Chapter #81 Order of the Eastern Star of Fredericktown. She was also a member of the Gay Street United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Shirley) Lamb of Fredericktown, Ohio, two daughters, Betty (Bill) Follet of Fredericktown and Joetta (Tom) Baker of Westerville, Ohio, eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Danals, Edna (John) MacMorris, John Lamb, Russell (Viola) Lamb and Floyd (Pat) Lamb.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Hugh Lamb, three sisters, Elizabeth Frazier, Alberta Petee and Grace Boggs.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where an Eastern Star service will follow at 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at the funeral home with Rev. Mary Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens.
