  • She was one dear friend. So honest and everyone knows it was a joy to be in her presence. We will miss her dearly. Have great memories of us camping together

  • Luvena, you were such a special neighbor to me and Luke and Jacob. So many memories of my boys with Ryan! Ryan, you were truly blessed with a great Mom. Our last night in the neighborhood, with just a few boxes in the garage left to move, your Mom walked up the driveway with Sloppy Joes and Snickerdoodles and we shared a final half hour reminiscing over classic Luvena specialties! A special place in my heart always.

  • A wonderful kindergarten teacher that remembered me when I came in to be the substitute teacher for her fourth grade class. Thank you, Mrs. Spires!

  • My two older boys had Mrs. Spires for kindergarten. They both had a good experience. I was always impressed how she balanced discipline and kindness. She was a really engaged, steady presence in the classroom.

  • Luvena and I spent several years as fourth grade teachers at Harrison St. She was truly a wonderful friend to me. As she retired and started on her travels, I knew she would become a friend to so many more—kids and adult alike. She will be missed.

  • Dear family,
Luvena was a great teacher and and person. She introduced one of my sons into education at BW. She will be missed. God bless you all.
