Lula E. Fletcher, age 98 of Sunbury, formerly of Delaware died Wednesday morning January 02, 2008 at Grady Memorial Hospital.

She was born on November 22, 1909 in West Union, Ohio to the late John and Mary (Roush) Price. A resident of Delaware County for the past 85 years, she worked the former Kilgore Manufacturing 19 years as a Hinge Dyer. Lula retired as a cook from the former Halfway House restaurant on US Route 23.

A faithful member of Wesleyan Church, she was a wonderful mother, treasured by her family. She was a former member of the TOP’s Club, enjoyed organizing the Kilgore Manufacturing Employee picnic and participating in the activities of the Heritage Days at Willowbrook in Delaware.

Survived by children: Gerald J. “Jay” (Marilyn) Fletcher and Ned Fletcher of Sunbury, Sandra Jill Martinez and Ted (Nancy) Fletcher of Katy, Texas, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and sister Wanda Howard of Delaware.

Preceded in death by her husband of 68 years: Walker Fletcher in 1996, daughter Ellen Martin in 2003, Brothers John Jr. and Conrad Price as well as two infant brothers and sisters Donna Strider and Wyvonna Fleming.

Friends may call Friday 5-8:00 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR’s 3 at 61, Sunbury, where services will be held Saturday 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Gerald Davis and Rev. Ervin Rhodes officiating. Burial will follow in Marlborough Cemetery.
