Lucina E. “Lucy” Haubert, age 87 of Marion, passed away Saturday June 9, 2018 at Marion General Hospital with her son Paul by her side.

Lucina was born on March 3, 1931 in Marion, the daughter of Chester and Rachel (Worley) Eckert. Lucina was united in marriage to Francis V. Haubert on March 8, 1952.

In her younger years, Lucina worked for the Marion Star until she and Francis started their family. She was a dedicated homemaker, raising their four children. Lucina had a passion and gift for sewing. She made beautiful quilts and clothes for her family. She enjoyed working at fabric stores, including House of Fabrics, So-Fro Fabrics and finally retiring from Jo-Ann Fabrics. Lucina was an avid Ohio State fan, especially enjoying football along with men’s and women’s basketball.

She is survived by her son Paul V. Haubert; grandchildren: Rachel (Robert) Pritchard, Steven (Robin) Fleming, Jennifer Hanson, Jeremy Hanson and James Hanson; great-grandchildren: Lucy Pritchard, Charlotte Pritchard and David Hanson.

Lucina is preceded in death by her parents, husband Francis V. Haubert; children: Esther M. Fleming, David A. Haubert and Carol A. Hanson; siblings: James, Paul, Richard and Robert Eckert.

In accordance with Lucina’s wishes, services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Esther M. Fleming Scholarship Fund c/o Ridgedale High School or the American Diabetes Association.
