Lucille Heldenbrand Moore, age 82, of Howard, Ohio died Friday November 30, 2007 at the Country Club Retirement Campus in Mount Vernon. Lucille was born February 5, 1925 in rural Richland County near Mansfield, Ohio. She attended a one-room school for her first eight grades. Then she attended and graduated from Madison High School in Mansfield in 1943.
In her high school yearbook she gave as her goal. “To receive a college degree and then be of service to the world.” Of the ten children in her family she was the only one to receive a college degree. She attended and graduated from Olivet Nazarene College in Bourbonnais, Illinois receiving a B.A. in education.
She was a member of the Fredericktown Church of the Nazarene.
In August 1948 she married the Rev. Mark E. Moore and together they ministered in the Church of the Nazarene for 45 years. This was mostly in Northwestern Ohio and Northeastern Indiana.
They had three children: Marceil Fenner of Columbus, Ohio, Marc Moore of Mount Vernon and Jenny Moore who preceded her in death in November 2003. A grandchild: Shawn Jackson also of Columbus, Ohio and one sister Grace Walker of Grants Pass, Oregon.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents: Charles and Ethel (Miller) Heldenbrand, seven sisters: Mable McClure, Catherine Moser, Doris Randolph, Mildred Tredway, Mary Powell, Martha Davis, Ruth Nissly and one brother, Charles Heldenbrand.
Friends may call on Monday from 4 PM to 7 PM at the Snyder Funeral Home in Fredericktown. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM at the Fredericktown Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Mark H. Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Mansfield Cemetery.
