Louise M. Roeher-Wilson

February 12, 1930 ‒ July 25, 2019

Loudonville, Ohio

Louise M. Johnston Roeher-Wilson, 89, of Loudonville, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019 at Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.

Louise graduated from Cuyahoga Heights High School in 1948. She outlived her whole family… two husbands, James Roeher, 37 years and Franklin Wilson, 5 years; mother, Lillie Eisenmann Johnston; father, George Martin Johnston; five siblings, George Jr., Norman, Ruth Vossler, Raymond and Tom; their spouses, Ruth Johnston, Don Vossler, and Marjorie Johnston, as well as her three children, Gary James 36, Greg Scott, 31, infant, Connie and stepson, Joel Wilson.

Louise was very active on the farm and enjoyed riding the draft horses. Her fondest memory is of her mother’s love and gentle ways.

She is survived by a raft of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-grands too numerous to count, as well as step children Jeni Wilson-Galleher and John Wilson.

A wise, generous, direct, no-nonsense woman with a heart of gold, she was a survivor.  As the last family member of her generation, her passing leaves a great hole in the fabric of her family and this world.

She left a legacy of love and insight to those who drank from her well of wisdom — truly a family treasure.

She also leaves a written history of the Johnston-Eisenmann family in book form — her opus composition to those carrying on the family names.

A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 7 pm Friday, August 16, 2019 at Snyder Funeral Home Lindsey Chapel in Loudonville with Aaron Zink officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Gary and Greg Roeher, at www.mda.org or in care of Snyder Funeral Home Lindsey Chapel, 123 N. Market St., Loudonville, OH 44842.

  • Hello, So sorry for your loss. My mother just passed away August 19th,2019 . I tell you this because she was related to your mom and she begged we let Louise know when she passes. Just did a search, this is awful and beautiful at the same time. Now they can talk anytime they wish. My mother was Marie (Eisenmann) Matthes . She loved her conversations with your mother.
