Louisa Anna Phillips

Louisa Anna Phillips, 92, formerly of Galion, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2009 at Piqua Manor in Piqua after an extended illness.
Born Feb. 13, 1916 in Galion, she was the daughter of the late Walter F. Kumm and Rosa Engelhorn Kumm. She was preceded in death on Dec. 14, 1977 by her husband, Robert T. Phillips, whom she married on July 18, 1938.
She was a graduate of Galion High School in 1934 and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Galion where she sang in the church choir for over 50 years. She was a charter member of Galion Community Chorus for 41 years, a member of Gal Lions Club, she was an avid golfer and bowler and previously bowled for Variety League and After Lunch Bunch League. She also volunteered with the mentally handicapped teaching swimming lessons at the Galion Community Center YMCA. She worked at the former Wilson Printing Company in Galion.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Brian W. and Janice Phillips of Piqua; two grandchildren, Amy Phillips and Bradley Phillips and two great-granddaughters, Brittney and Emily Phillips.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Walter H. Kumm.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, with Pastor Ron Keller officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
