Louis Marti, age 89, of Mount Vernon died Saturday morning, October 22, 2016 at the Country Club Rehabilitation Campus in Mount Vernon.  He was born May 2, 1927 in Mount Vernon to the late Charles and Frances (Italiano) Marti.

          Louis was a retired Glass Cutter for PPG.  He was a private pilot for many years.  Louis honorable served his country in the Marine Corp during WWII and served in U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Colonial City Moose Lodge #2555 and the AmVets.  Louis enjoyed attending auctions, collecting antiques, hunting, fishing at Knox Lake, riding motorcycles, hunting mushrooms and he loved to cook.

          Louis is survived by his children, Judy (Darrell) Keener of Utica, Jerry Marti of Mount Vernon, Rick (Mary) Marti of Bellville and Kim (Paul McGough) Peck of Mount Vernon; 7 grandchildren,  6  great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson; and a sister, Amelia Panyik of Mansfield.

          In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise (Page) Marti on April 8, 1991; grandson, Gerald “Gary” Marti on July 24, 2016;   brother, Tony Marti; daughter-in-law, Patricia “Patti” Marti on June 16, 2004; and son-in-law, Danny Peck on March 27, 2006.

           The family will have a private funeral service on Tuesday with Nathan Peck officiating.  Burial will be in Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Knox County Joint Veterans Council.
