Lou I. “Jean” Huddleston, age 73 of Richwood and formerly of Delaware passed away at the home of her granddaughter’s in Delaware Wednesday evening, December 14, 2005.
She was born on March 6, 1932 in Point Pleasant, West Virginia the daughter of the late Robert and Frances (Leport) Wamsley. Jean moved to Delaware in 1968 from West Virginia and had resided in Richwood for the past 7 years. She worked over 20 years for Grady Memorial Hospital as a housekeeping supervisor.
A longtime member of the Delaware Eagles, she collected grandchildren, enjoyed fishing at the Richwood lake, dancing, and flower gardening. She was a wonderful cook, known for her famous homemade fudge.
Survived by her children: Tim (Chris) Huddleston of Delaware, Joyce (Gar) Newell of Tiffin, William Jr. (Mary) of Marysville, 15 Grandchildren: Brittney, Cody, Tiffany, T.J., Robert, Kimmy, Shelly, Susie, Charlie, Bobbie, Missy, Sissy, Willie, Dustin, Carrie, numerous Great-grandchildren, Twin Sister: Nadine (Clarence) Reynolds of Richwood, and faithful companion of 20 years: John Collins.
Preceded in death by Husband: William V. Huddleston Sr., Daughter: Nancy Pounds, and 11 Brothers and Sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 2:00 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 75 W. William St., Delaware, with Deacon Franklin Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Memorial Park. Friends may call prior to the services Saturday from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m.
