Loretta Joan Weirich

Loretta Joan Weirich, age 67, of 459 Craigston Drive, Mansfield, died Monday afternoon June 25, 2001 in the emergency room of MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following an apparent heart attack. She was born August 20, 1933 in Mansfield to John and Hazel (Fike) Kvochick, was graduated from Mansfield Senior High School and had been a lifelong Mansfield resident. A homemaker, Loretta had worked at the Mansfield News Journal, MedCentral Mansfield Hospital, Key Bank, Hi Stat and the 5-Points Drive-In in Butler. She was a member of Resurrection Parish and the Richland County Fair Board Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening, but focused her attention on her family. An accomplished seamstress, she always had a sewing project for one of her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Harry D. Weirich, whom she married October 3, 1975; twelve children and their spouses Karen Hout of Ashland, John & Gloria Sheets of Mansfield, David & Pamela Sheets of Cardington, Alan & Cheryl Sheets of Butler, Beth Sheets of Covington, KY, Harry B. Weirich of Mansfield, George & Ellen Weirich of Lexington, Diane & Robert Sinclair of Greenwich, Barbara & David Etzwiler of Bellville, Linda & Steve Bailey of Ashland, Pamela & Mike Bell of Mansfield and Thomas & Michelle Weirich of Mansfield; 20 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law Raymond & Patricia Kvochick of Loudonville; a sister Betty Smith of Mansfield; her mother-in-law Estelle Berrington of Oberlin; a sister-in-law Loretta Kvochick of Lexington; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband Chester Halbrooks; two sisters Ruth Weirich and Peggy Kvochick; and four brothers John Kvochick, Jr., Robert Kvochick, Jack Kvochick, and an infant brother Joe Kvochick. Friends may call this evening Wednesday June 27, 2001 from 6-8 pm and Thursday June 28, 2001 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Friday June 29, 2001 at 11 am in Resurrection Parish, 2600 Lexington Avenue, celebrated by the Rev. Father Stan Szybka. Burial will follow in Lantz Cemetery.
