Lorena A. Deel

September 02, 1936 ‒ March 02, 2015

Delaware, Ohio

Lorena A. Deel, 78, of Delaware, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Ann’s Hospital. She was born September 2, 1936 in Bellaire, Ohio and raised by her mother, Jeanette E. Jones.

Lorena was a simple woman who did not need fancy things to be happy. She enjoyed canning her husband’s garden produce to provide for her family, making quilts to keep her family warm and comforted, and cooking to keep them fed. Always one for a bargain, Lorena was often found at the local thrift shops or auctions.

Whether in a local stream, or on her son’s bass boat, Lorena had a love of fishing and spending that quality time with her children. Above all, she loved her family and her life revolved around them. Wanting nothing more than to care for and comfort her family, even through her illness until her final hours, Lorena let them know “It’s Okay.”

She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Albert Deel of Delaware; sons, Martie Albert (Ruth) Deel of Sunbury; Lawrence (Teresa) Deel of Marengo; daughters, Deborah (Nik) Burton of Bellefontaine; Peggy Holliday of Marion; 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren with another on the way.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2pm to 4pm  & 6pm to 8 pm at the Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William Street at Valleyside Drive, Delaware, where a service celebrating Lorena’s life will be held 11 am, Monday with her son, Elder Martie Deel officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Flowers are accepted, however, memorial contributions may be made to the family for final expenses c/o Snyder Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W William St, Delaware, OH 43015
