Lisa Marie Flood, age 43, of Division Street, Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 24, 2015 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was born on December 2, 1971 in Mount Vernon the daughter of Ronald and Marie “Pixie” (Peterson) McCoy. Lisa was a 1990 graduated of East Knox High School. She was a member of the Brandon Baptist Church and previously worked at Northside Manor and Duke and Duchess of Mount Vernon. Lisa enjoyed fishing with her husband and spending quality time with her family.

Besides her parents she is survived by her husband, Johnny Flood, a sister, Ronda “Ronni” (Jeremy) Vernon of Mount Vernon and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kaitlynn Marie Flood, paternal grandparents, Stewart and Leota McCoy, maternal grandparents, Maurice and Elsie Peterson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015 beginning at 3 p.m. at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where friends may call from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Pastor Marvin Haught, Pastor Roger Tickle and Pastor Jay Horne will be officiating.

Memorial contributions in Lisa’s name may be made to the funeral home to help with expenses or the charity of one’s choice.

  • My heart is heavy. Hard to believe Lisa is gone. While over the years we didn’t see each other as often, I still have many great memories from gatherings at Grandma McCoy’s house. Prayers of comfort for Johnny, Uncle Ron and Aunt Pixie and Ronda and her family. I know her boys adored her! There is comfort knowing she is in Heaven now with her daughter Kaitlyn and Grandma McCoy. I know she touched many people’s lives.

Thanks for you and Rhonda and your caring about Care Net and doing the walk. Your sure to be missed by many and your family will always be in our prayers as they continue to walk with the Lord and serve Him. So glad we will all be together as we leave this earth.
