BELLVILLE: Lisa Kay (Wolfgang) (DeMoss) Chewning passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 in OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital. She was 56.

She was born May 19, 1965 to parents Harold “Skip” & Mary Sue (Payne) Wolfgang in Mansfield. Lisa graduated from Clear Fork High School with the class of 1985. She worked at MCF before working as a machinist at United Titanium.

An outgoing personality, Lisa had a smile that she always had on and her laugh was unmistakable. She was a hard worker with a huge heart for those around her. It didn’t matter what was going on with her, she would want to make sure that everyone around her was ok. In younger years she enjoyed bowling in leagues on Thursdays and Saturdays. Lisa would be found at all of her kids games and would cheer as loud as she could in support of them.

She enjoyed going camping and riding motorcycles as well as playing cards and LCR. But above all, Lisa cherished her family dearly. She would spoil her grandbabies any chance she had. Lisa will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her husband Robert Chewning whom she married on November 29, 2017; children Michael (Lora) DeMoss, Christina “Marvin” DeMoss; step-daughters Dainyelle Adams, Natasha Mitchem and Clorissa (Daryl) Green; 25 grandchildrn including Aiden, Nicholas, Eloise, Madison, Alaina and Leslie; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings Gary Wolfgang, Ronald Wolfgang and Sandra (Thomas) Armstrong; best friend Tess and Hans Davis; mother-in-law Luretta “Jane” Leeson; sibling-in-laws Bernadine (PJ) Lanham, Amy Leeson, Diana Wingfield (Rod McCloskey), and Velvet and Byron Nicholson; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family including nieces Mary Ann Armstrong and Kelly Lynn Armstrong.

She was preceded in death by her parents; 1st husband Johnny DeMoss and nephew Cody Wolfgang.

  • God blessed me with a sister when I met you… Your eyes and spirit lit up the room. From the first time we met, I knew that you would make my family complete. Then when I met your daughter and other family members, I knew I was truly blessed God has plenty of angels but you were my angel on earth. You made life bearable when it wasn’t tolerable, you gave sunlight when times were gray. All I know you earned your sainthood. Now it’s time to rest. Your loved and missed and you will never be more than a thought away. Your my sister and forever friend.. I love you dearly.

You were very loving but also new how to speak your mind! With that beautiful smile on your face of course 😊 nothing but kindness came from you! Your spirit was beautiful to match that smile too!!

I am so sorry that your mother/sister has passed. She was always pleasant and had that infectious smile and laugh. Both your parents passed way too soon in life, but are together again!
They were both great neighbors. John ALWAYS waved when I drove past him when he was outside mowing. Lisa was a hoot during the Halloween candy night.

I was fortunate to be able to talk with Lisa at Kelly’s RN graduation party.

We lost a good person on October 7th.

    RIP

  • Dear Michael ,Christina and Families,
Our sincere thoughts and prayers go out to you both during this shocking loss of your Mom. It’s hard to believe she and your dad are both gone.. way too young… 😢. We always enjoyed seeing them at all of the sporting events at school years ago, while we cheered all you kids on from the stands! . We could tell she loved watching you both play sports and was your biggest fan!! God Bless you and your families during this very difficult time of loss…

  • Many Prayers going up to your family. You will so strongly be missed by mine. I can still see you at Tess’s house sitting across the breakfast bar with that great be smile – and I can still hear you always saying ” Hi mom”- on the phone and giving such loving hugs when we met any place. God will take care of those so dear to you- as you would have wanted and He has now healed you from all your suffering . You are so missed but will live in all our lives forever. Love you dear LADY!

  • Lisa was for sure one of a kind. Worked with her for a few years at Hillcrest. I don’t remember a day, that she wasn’t in a good mood. Seemed like all the patients loved her. And everyone we worked with.
She had a heart of gold. Would do anything to help anyone.
Your all in my Thoughts and Prayers.

  • Our hearts are broken. So sorry to see Lisa move on. Heaven gained another wonderful person.
