Linda Lou Knapp

Linda Lou Knapp, age 79 of Marengo died early Wednesday morning, April 22, 2009 at Morrow County Hospital Extended Care Unit.
She was born on August 10, 1929 in Bidwell to the late Kenneth Ward and Velma (Edmundson) Ward McFarland. A 1947 graduate of Marion Harding High School, she became a resident of Marengo in 1957. For over 30 years she was the cafeteria manager for all of the Highland Schools.
A 45 year member of Pythian Sisters Temple No. 501 of Marengo, she was a former Grand Secretary of the Grand Temple of Ohio, President of National Secretaries Association of Pythian Sisters. A member of the Nomads of Avruvaka in Delaware Chapter Lel Taj Mahll and Marengo United Methodist Church, she was very independent and enjoyed the Pythian activities. A licensed pilot for over 20 years, she was witty, self sufficient and lived her life for her grandson Ricky, who died April 17, 2009.
Survived by children: Rick Knapp of Ashville, Terry (Jill) Knapp of Mt. Gilead, Marla (Larry) Elliott of Fredericktown, 6 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, sisters: Sharon (Don) Denton of Cardington, Kendra Ward (Bob Bence) of Bidwell.
Also preceded in death by her husband: Ray in 1978, Brother Dennis McFarland, special friend and co-pilot: Burrell Sparks.
Friends may call Friday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 229 in Marengo, where services will follow Saturday 10:30 a.m., interment Marengo Cemetery.
