BELLVILLE: Linda L. Wenger, 51, of Hamilton Road, Bellville, died Tuesday evening April 5, 2005 in her home following a long illness.
She was born July 1, 1953 in Mansfield, was graduated from Lexington High School in 1971, and remained a lifelong area resident.
A homemaker, Linda had worked the past five years as a clerk and typist with The Bellville Star, and through the 1990’s she served as a cashier at Geyer’s Super Valu in Lexington.
She was a member of North Woodbury Alliance Church, where she was active in the Livengood small group, and had helped with children’s ministries and Vacation Bible School.
Linda had been active with the Clear Fork Athletic Boosters and with Bingo at Z-Place in Butler.
Supportive of her children, she was often found on the sidelines of baseball, soccer, volleyball, softball and basketball games.
An avid reader and gardener, she dabbled in collecting antiques and Hallmark ornaments.
Her faith touched many hearts, yet her legacy will be one of doting on her grandchildren and loving devotion and protection for her children, characterized by late-night, heart-to-heart talks.
She is survived by her husband Keith L. Wenger, whom she married October 18, 1975; their children and their spouses Justin and Katy Wenger of Upper Sandusky, Traci and Jeremy Overholt of Fredericktown, Travis Wenger and Kevin Wenger both of Bellville; four grandchildren Abbey and Morgan Wenger and Isaiah and Tayler Overholt; her mother Emily Boyce of Mansfield; her father Arthur Boyce of Mansfield; a sister and brother-in-law Jeannie and Chet Pittenger of Bellville; three brothers and sisters-in-law Don and Thella Boyce and Doug and Laurie Boyce all of Lexington and Dennis and Wanda Boyce of Mansfield; her father-in-law Eldon Wenger of Fredericktown; numerous nieces and nephews; a large extended family and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2005 from 4 – 8 pm in North Woodbury Alliance Church, 6385 State Route 314. The worship service, giving glory to God for Linda’s life will be held Saturday at 11 am in the church building. Pastors Yogi Durbin, Dan Richter and Craig Irwin will officiate. Burial will follow in Bellville Cemetery. The Bellville Snyder Funeral Home is in charge of funeral arrangements.
