Linda L. Blackburn, age 75 of Westerville formerly of Sunbury passed away at James Cancer Hospital on Wednesday, October 10, 2018.

Born on October 9, 1943 in Mansfield, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Alberta Amsbaugh. Linda was a 1961 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. She worked 39 years as an assistant underwriter at the State Farm Insurance Regional Office in Newark. She was also an officer of the Toast Masters State Farm Chapter.

A member of Sunbury Christian Church, she had served as the assistant administrator of the church’s Sonshine Pre-School, taught Sunday school and participated in the women’s bible study.  Linda enjoyed Southern Gospel Music, orange pop sickles, and HGTV. A collector of Beanie Babies, she was forever fun loving and witty, loved children and making people laugh.  Linda’s life centered on the Lord and her treasured family.  She will be remembered not only for her humor, but also for her compassionate and giving ways.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 52 years Donald Blackburn, daughter Dianna “Lanie” Blackburn of Worthington; brothers: Arthur (Janet) Amsbaugh of Mansfield, William (Rosetta) Amsbaugh of McMechen, WV; sisters-in-law: Lynda Amsbaugh, Joan Burke, brother-in-law Joe Parsons, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friend, and extended church family at Sunbury Christian Church and Heath Church of Christ.

She was also preceded in death by brothers:  Thomas, Ramon, and James Amsbaugh; sisters: Katherine Coulter, Marian Chambers, and Dianna Parsons.

Friends may call from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the Sunbury Christian Church, 870 Admiral Dr., Sunbury, Ohio 43074 where services celebrating her life will be held 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, with Pastors Mike Bratton and Dr. Jeff Amsbaugh, her nephew officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home in Sunbury.

Memorial contributions can be made to Sonshine Preschool in care of her church.
