LEBANON: Lillian Eleanor Garn was born on September 21, 1925 to Luther and Nancy (DeWalt) Nipper in Crestline. She died peacefully on Thursday, May 3, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Carl and Robert, a sister, Mary Snyder, and her beloved spouse, Robert Harnley Garn. She is survived by two sisters, Roberta Lymburner and Alice Boone, a son, Steve Garn of Duluth, Georgia, a daughter, Cyndy Garn of Columbus, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Having lived most of her life in Mansfield, she resided at Otterbein Senior Lifestyle Community since 1999. Lillian was a gracious lady who loved to volunteer, play cards, laugh and help others. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Mansfield for over 75 years and had an associate membership at Otterbein Lebanon UMC since 1999. Early in her adult life she worked for the Shelby Salesbook and Neisner Brothers. Lillian gallantly fought cancer since 2003 and was an inspiration to many.

A Celebration of her life will be held at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home on Monday, May 7th at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3:00 – 7:00 pm. A second Celebration of Life will be held at Otterbein Lebanon UMC on Saturday, May 26th at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Lillian and her children request memorial gifts to the following: Otterbein Lebanon Benevolence Fund or Otterbein United Methodist Church, both in Lebanon, Trinity United Methodist Church, Mansfield, and to The Robert H. Garn Scholarship at Ashland University, Ashland.
