Lillian G. Auker, age 88, of Sycamore Road, Mount Vernon, passed away on Monday April 5, 2004 at Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born on February 20, 1916 in Virginia to the late John and Laura (Crank) Morris. Mrs. Auker served as a volunteer at the Station Break and was also a member of the bell choir.
She is survived by two sons, Roger (Ruth) Auker of Fredericktown, Eldon Auker of Fredericktown, a daughter, Beulah (Jack) Beatty of Gambier, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a great great grandson and her sister, Reba Halsey of Crooksville.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Auker (1993), two sisters, Elsie Bell, Pearl Pargeon and a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Auker.
Friends may call on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 2 PM with Pastor Tom Booth officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Station Break, 501 S. Main St., Mt. Vernon, OH 43050, or to Hospice of Knox County, 302 E. High St., Mt. Vernon, Ohio 43050.
