Lila A. Rigdon, 89, of Galion passed away Monday, February 1, 2021 at Lexington Court Care Center. She had been in declining health for the past few months.

She was born October 7, 1931 in New Washington, Ohio and was the daughter of Linus and Dolores (Blust) Niedermier. On July 17, 1953 she married Hubert N. Rigdon and they were married nearly 60 years until his passing on April 14, 2013.

She was a graduate of New Washington High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion. Lila enjoyed camping, puzzle books, jigsaw puzzles, watching big game shows including Jeopardy and was an avid scrabble player. She loved to travel with her husband Hubert and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and an excellent cook.

Lila is survived by her children, Dolores Moody of Galion, Don (Tracy) Rigdon of Crestline, Darlene (Bill) Sheffer of Mansfield and Doug (Laura) Rigdon of Galion; eight grandchildren, Dawn Nunn, Diana (Chris) Rhoades, Chad Rigdon, Amber Rigdon, Scott Rigdon, Cara Rigdon, Becca Rigdon and Sam Rigdon, 4 great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild; brother, Bob (Maryann) Niedermier and a sister, Laurena VanEerten of New Washington.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by son, David Earl Rigdon; three brothers, Ben, Chuck and James Niedermier; sister, Vivian Morton and a son-in-law Gene Moody.

Private services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church in care of the funeral home.
