Lewis E. O’Brien, age 86, of Broadway St., Mount Vernon, died September 22, 2002, in Mount Vernon. He was born November 13, 1915, in Mount Vernon the son of Lewis C. and Mildred (Sharp) O’Brien and had been a lifetime resident of Knox County. He was an employee of the Knox County Memorial Theater and retired in 1978. Mr. O’Brien was a U. S. Army veteran of WWII and served in the European Theater.
He is survived by his daughter Marjorie O’Brien, a son Mike (Andrea) O’Brien, a sister Helen Lober and a brother William (Betty) O’Brien all of Mount Vernon. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Pauline Lauderbaugh and Eva Cline and a brother James O’Brien.
Friends may call at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 PM until 3PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 11 AM. The reverend Dan Taylor will officiate and burial will follow in the Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens.
