Lester K. “Puff” Hughes, age 70, of Mount Vernon passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020 at the Knox Community Hospital.

He was born on August 18, 1949 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Leroy and Ruth (Waggoner) Hughes.  Puff was employed and retired from USA Mouser Co. after 35 years of service.  He was a member of Amvets Post #95 in Mount Vernon and Clover Valley Chapel in Johnstown.  Puff enjoyed collecting hats of all kind but most of all, he loved the time he spent with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Laura Hughes; his son Scott Hughes; step-children, Kenneth, Jenifer, Ruth, and Robin; and his brothers Myron David Hughes and John (Gayle) Hughes.

In addition to his parents, Puff was preceded in death by his brothers Jerry, Bill, Bob and Tom Hughes; and his sister Nancy Duncan.

Friends may call on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 from 12-1PM at the Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home.  A service will follow, beginning 1PM, with Rev. Brian Smith officiating.
