Leroy Sheets, “Jr.” age 89, of Mt. Liberty, OH, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at Columbus Colony Elderly Care.  Retired from the Liebert Corporation after 26 ½ years of service.  Leroy was a selfless man and would help anyone anyway he could.  He enjoyed visiting friends, picking blackberries, canning tomato juice, puzzles, westerns and John Wayne.  By far Leroy’s proudest and favorites were his beloved wife, Alice who preceded in death, and his boys. In addition to his wife, Leroy was also preceded in death by parents, Simon L. and Letta H. (Henderson) Sheets; sisters, Emma Bell Spence and Frances Kay Lester.

He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Donna Sheets of Westerville, Tom and Lori Sheets of Marion and Simon of Ohio; grandchildren, Tommy, Noah and Micah Sheets, Kaytlyn and Tres DeWitt; sisters and brother-in-laws, Shirley Ruth and Harry Rowe of Silver Lake, IN, Connie Sue and Claude Moore of Greenup, KY, Judith Dianne and Ottie Williams of Peebles, OH, Cathy Elaine Porter of Ruskin, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Service 2 PM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, 637 N. State Route 61, (at SR 3) Sunbury where the family will be receiving visitors from 1 PM until time of service.  Pastor Larry DeWitt, Funeral Celebrant.  Inurnment to follow at Galena Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home in Leroy’s memory.  Please leave a memory or condolence for the family on this website.

  • Leroy….left a legacy. Worked with him at Liebert. Always taking empty skids home. Henry, sympathy to you and your family. Leroy was a hard worker and fun to work with.

  • So sorry to hear of Leroy’s passing. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family. He was a good man and a very good friend to my dad, Redgel Mullins, he would stop by and talk about canning green beans or tomato juice and where the next good blackberry patch was at. Will surely be missed by all.
