Leona H. Sampsel

Leona H. Sampsel, 76, of 1510 Knorr Road, Galion, died Thursday, December 4, 2003 at the home of her daughter, Kathy in Galion after an extended illness.
Born February 28, 1927 in Canton, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth Garrison and Carrie Durnwald. In 1947 she married Robert L. Sampsel, who preceded her on September 18, 1966.
She was a member of the Galion Women of the Moose, Chapter #177. She enjoyed her two cats, Susie and Muffin. She enjoyed working in the garden and working on her home, going as far as hanging paneling and painting the entire outside of her house herself. She liked going to the fairs and listening to and seeing Phil Dirt and the Dozers. She also enjoyed Mike Albert, her favorite Elvis impersonator. She loved to go out to eat; her favorite restaurant was Jerry’s Colonial Restaurant in Galion.
She worked at Galion Community Hospital for 20 years from 1972 to 1992 and was Dietary Supervisor on second shift,
Surviving are two daughters, Kathy Sampsel, of Galion and Karen Sampsel, of Crestline.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Garrison.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, December 7, at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 8, with Rev. Walt Keib officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
