Leona Dean Westover, 95, of Mount Vernon, OH formerly of Grand Rapids, MI passed away November 12, 2007 at the Country Court Nursing Center in Mount Vernon. Leona was born April 3, 1912 in Wayland, MI to Herbert and Ruby (Snyder) Dean. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1928 and moved to Grand Rapids where she later met and married Marshall Westover. Leona will be remembered by many for her years of leadership in the Sunday School at Wealthy Street Baptist Church in Grand Rapids. She was owner of Westover Dry Goods Store and later worked at Radio Bible Class until her retirement.

She is survived by two daughters Lois O’Hara of Mount Vernon and Evelyn (Roger) Cochran of Scottville, MI; three sons Richard (Shirley) Westover of Pentwater, MI, Herbert (Sue) Westover of Ironwood, MI, and Norman (Sally) Westover of Auburndale, FL; 16 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law Dorothy Dean, Elma Dean and Jackie Dean.

Her husband Marshall, son-in-law Rev. William O’Hara, sister Daisy Vanderberg and brothers James, Clarence, Datus, Donavon, Carol, and Norman, a great grandchild and a great great grandchild all preceded Leona in death.

Her children and grandchildren will welcome relatives and friends at a graveside service on Saturday, November 17, 2007 at 2 PM at the Jamestown Township Cemetery, Jamestown, MI., with Rev. David Westover officiating.
