Lee R. Weber

December 14, 1955 ‒ November 11, 2020

Ashland, Ohio

ASHLAND: Lee R. Weber passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020 from OhioHealth Mansfield. He was 64.

He was born December 14, 1955 in Barnesville to parents Roy & Marjorie (Shriner) Weber. He graduated from Ashland High School in 1974 and went on to obtain his bachelor’s degree in 1979 and completed his master’s degree in 1982. He also took some nursing classes to help him assist his ailing mother. He served as a faithful caregiver to his uncle Robert Shriner, taking care of every little need and to Roy Greenbank as well.

Lee taught at Ashland College as well as substitute taught at many other schools. Most of his career was spent with CSX Railroad and US Steel in Cleveland.

He was a member of Crossroads Church as well as the Masons, Shriners and Moose Lodge just to name a few. Around Thanksgiving, he would take time out of his schedule to help arrange feeding some of the homeless in his community.

Lee was an active guy who enjoyed many different hobbies. He enjoyed hunting and fishing in Richland & Crawford County, swimming laps at the YMCA (he even participated in a 12 mile swim in 1993), scuba diving and boxing. He really enjoyed ballroom dancing and dressing up for special occasions. In the winter he would serve as a ski instructor at Snow Trails.

Lee was always known as “on the go” and as such he loved to travel! Some of his favorite places were Arizona and Tennessee where he would spend time with his cousin Clara and special friend Roger. He also loved traveling, skiing, dancing and playing tennis with his special companion Linda.

Lee never put anyone down but always accepted everyone just as they were. He was known as an intelligent, easy going, caring person who was always there for his friends. He will be greatly missed.

Although no public services will be held at this time in Lee’s memory, we hope you will remember him in your own special way. A graveside memorial will be held in the spring.

We danced in Columbus and attended the Ohio Star Ball. and Krock Center. Toured Dayton Air Force Museum and Wapakoneta, Ohio, Neil Armstrong Museum. Lee enjoyed eating out at Cracker Barrel, etc. He attended Earnest Anlseys church. Later went to our Crossroads Church enjoying their coffee shop. Lee enjoyed the Ashland Fair and Loudenville Fairs as well as Cedar Point. He enjoyed seeing the Beach Boys Concert in Akron. He told me he taught classes there. Yes my boys and I will greatly miss him. Now I have to walk alone at the Y without him. Prayers for family and friends.

  • Such a wonderful gentlemen!! Lee attended my Ballroom Dance Classes at Holy Trinity off and on for several years and frequently ate afterwards with us. His partners always spoke well of him. I never heard him say an unkind word about anyone. He will be greatly missed Carolyn England
