Lawrence E. “Butch” Jones, age 59 of Marion, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at his home.

Butch was born July 23, 1962 in Marion, the son of the late William and Rebecca (Darnell) Jones.

Butch worked as a forklift operator for Silver Line. He also enjoyed working on cars, especially building derby cars. Butch was most of all an outdoorsman; he enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden, fishing, and loved to go hunting. He was known to hunt deer, wild boar and turkey just to name a few. He loved his family and his 2 precious cats, Angel and Misty.

Butch is survived by his children: Chad Allen Pickens, Todd Edward Jones, and Elizabeth Elaine Jones; ex-wife, Amy Pickens; grandchildren: Kayla Nicole Pickens, Jeremiah Joe Pickens, and Edward John Jones; also surviving are siblings: Leila Warner, Tracie Archambo, Jacquelyn Parmer, Timmy Jones, Jeff Jones and Adam Jones.

Visitation will be Monday, September 13, 2021 at Snyder Funeral Homes, Denzer Chapel from 11AM to 1PM; funeral service will follow at 1PM with burial in Prospect Cemetery.

  • Thanks for all u did for me pops my greatest time hunting was when the first time I went to killdeer with u and Todd that was the most greatest day of my life wish I could’ve been there for u more than what I was I love u pops and there won’t be a day that I won’t think about u thanks from the bottom of my heart for teaching me how to hunt and helping me get my hunting licenses and studying with me and teaching me about cars I love u and me and Todd promise we will live the hunting tradition and never let stop

  • I am going to miss you so much uncle butch. I will always remember your derby car that you hand painted all the Looney Tunes on. To this day I love watching the derbies because you and my dad. Maybe one I will drive a looney tunes derby car and that day I will be thinking of you. It’s just don’t going to be the same not seeing you at family things you have always been there and you always will. Fly high uncle butch I will see you again ♥️♥️
