LaVada F. Fellows of Ashley passed away Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Grady Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. She was 88 years old.

Born on June 7, 1927 in Curlew, Kentucky she was a daughter of the late Enoch F. and Luoria A. (Riley) Bebout. It was in Kentucky at a USO dance that she met Robert O. “Bob” Fellows. They would marry in 1951 and together raised a family and treasured 64 wonderful years. Bob expressed that she was the best, always happy and forever loyal.

A devoted wife, mother, grandmother she was the maker of the family home through thick and thin. She was a wonderful cook and baker. Earning the nick name Mrs. Pie Maker as she made pies of every flavor and for every event, the mainstay favorite being pecan. She also made springerlies cookies, a family tradition and part of her Deutsche heritage.

LaVada was a dedicated member of the Ashley United Methodist Church, active in all church functions, especially the dinners. Generous, sweet, and kind hearted she enjoyed the weather of Arizona and cooking for others.

She leaves a legacy as described by her husband “where ever she was – was a good place”.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Robert, children Robert S. (Pat) Fellows of Marengo, Lisa Ingalls of Delaware, William B. (Donna) Fellows of Gambrills, MD, Fred “Dallas” Fellows of Phnom Phen, Cambodia, 7 grandchildren: Donald Mullins, Haily (Michael) Collmar, Robbie, Brian, Matthew, Camden, Cassy Fellows, 3 great-grandchildren: Tawney Mullins (Kyle Sparks), Robert and Andrew Collmar, and 2 great-great-grandchildren: Drelyn Akers, Carver Sparks.

She was preceded in death by her 7 siblings Carlos, Vergie, Ollie, John “JD”, Aubrey “Duffy” Bebout, Ethel Mae Wiggins, Maudie Wohlwend.

Memorial services celebrating LaVada’s life will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 18th at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 1510 W. William St. at Vallyside Dr., Delaware. A gathering and luncheon will follow in the community room at the Center.

Inurnment will follow at a later date in Fairview Memorial Park.
