Laurie R. Hall passed away peacefully at her home September 24, 2003, surrounded by her family. She was born August 9, 1956, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Lyle and Hope (Selberg) Pate and had been a Mount Vernon resident for 20 years. She was awarded an associate degree by North Central Technical College in criminology. Mrs. Hall was active in local volunteer work and had been associated with New Directions, Knox County Interchurch, Station Break, as a Girl Scout troop leader and with Grove 4H Club.
She is survived by her best friend and loving husband Joe C. Hall, children Robert and Jana Karssen, James Simon Hall, Sean B. Hall and Jesse J. Hall, granddaughter Layla Marie Hall, her mother and step-father Hope and Ed Tumidanski, grandmother Ann Selberg, sisters Leslie Hoga, Luwana James and Theresa Predmore, brother Jeff Pate and step-brothers Robert and John Tumidanski.
Private calling hours were observed and there will be a service in celebration of her life held at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Knox County, 302 E. High St., Mount Vernon, Ohio 43050. The Dowds-Snyder Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
