Larry Schnees, age 70 of Delaware, OH, passed away Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in Delaware. He was born March 1, 1949 in Delaware, OH to the late Lawrence and Marcella (Price) Schnees.

Left to cherish Larry’s memory are his son, Larry “Scooter” (Aliva) Schnees; daughters: Danielle (Dameian Edgerly) Schnees, and Diana Pulido; 8 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several other relatives and friends.

Larry was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and NASCAR fan. He rode and built several motorcycles and cars throughout his lifetime, with Harley Davidson cycles being his favorite. He also built hot rod cars, including a special ’51 Pontiac. He was an auto body technician by trade, and was always happy to help anyone fix or build motorcycles or cars. Larry was a very creative and resourceful person; making his own tools and stencils, and tending to a vegetable garden in which he sought to grow challenging and unusual vegetables. He cooked wonderful meals for his family with the vegetables from his garden. Larry was active in his community, with memberships in the Delaware Redmen’s Club, and AmVets 102.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Karen (Hughes) Schnees, and sister, Dianna Schnees.

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 21, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. to  1:00 p.m. at the Snyder-Rodman Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Dr., Delaware, OH. A service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

  • Sad to see this. Larry Schnees has been a name I’ve known for years and years from my dad/stepmom. Only this year did he friend me on Facebook. I really enjoyed seeing his projects and seeing his positive posts regarding his treatments. So sorry for your loss.

  • I am a distant cousin. Carolyn Troutman McCain is my Mother. She often talked about Larry and how she remembered him. I remember meeting/ seeing Larry at my Aunt Bettys and he was a great guy, full of life. My heart goes out to the family. ❤️ Love to all from Florida family.
