Larry “Dough Belly” McMannes

Larry “Dough Belly” McMannes, age 74, of Delaware, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 15, 2018, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus.

On September 18, 1943, Larry was born in Athens, Ohio, son of the late Leonard Glenn McMannes and Iva Maxine (Kenneth) Driggs Carr.

Larry worked as a self-employed mechanic throughout his life.  He enjoyed working on old cars and bicycles.  He liked riding Harleys, watching NASCAR and collecting coins.  He was also known to frequent the different bars on Lake Street in Delaware.  He always enjoyed social times with friends at St. Michaels and his much needed naps.

Larry is survived by 4 nephews: Robert Bump of Marengo, Jeffrey (Amanda) Bump of Edison, Dustin Bump of Fulton, and Anthony (Jennifer) Bump of Mount Gilead; a niece, Jennifer (Vinny Quesada III) Bump of Mount Gilead; and his brother-in-law, Ed Bump of Mount Gilead.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sue Bump.

Dough Belly’s family will hold a memorial gathering at Stop 42 in Delaware at a later date.
