Larry D. Anderson, age 67 of Sunbury, died Tuesday morning January 1, 2013 at St. Ann’s Hospital in Westerville.
He was born on September 1, 1945 in Sunbury to the late Georgia W. and Letha J. (Jenkins) Anderson. He was a lab technician at Nestles with 44 years of service. Member of Sparrow Lodge No. 400 F&AM, Valley of Columbus 32nd degree and President of the Big Walnut Conservation Club.
Larry loved spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed target shooting and drag races. Larry would come home from work and have a treat in his lunchbox for his children and in later years his grandchildren, but he had to give it to them when he was ready and the anticipation to see what he brought was overwhelming. He also spent time coaching his daughter’s softball teams and enjoyed the Dollar Store trips with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years Agnes (Woody) Anderson and they were married June 13, 1965 in Columbus; daughters: Lori Anderson Cherry of Summerville, WV, Kelly (Jamie) Wampler of Sunbury; son: Trent Anderson of Westerville; grandchildren: Spcs. Donovan (Mariah) Anderson, Garrett Dunahugh, Erik Wampler, Kelly Anderson, Erin Wampler, Josh Anderson, Dylan Anderson.
Preceded in death by brothers: Edward and Doyle.
Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m., Masonic Service at 7:45 p.m., at the DeVore-Snyder Funeral Home, SR 3 at 61, Sunbury where service will be held Tuesday at 2:25 p.m. with Pastor Lloyd Huffer officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunbury Memorial Park.
